1990 No. 60 CURRENCY REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 2
Designs of coins
2. Regulation 4 of the Currency Regulations is amended:
(a) by inserting in subparagraph (c) (iAC) ", other than a coin referred
to
in subparagraph (d) (viiiBE) or (viiiBH)" after "of $5";
(b) by omitting from subparagraph (d) (viiiBDA) "(viiiBF) or (viiiBG)" and
substituting "(viiiBF), (viiiBG) or (viiiBH)";
(c) by inserting after subparagraph (d) (viiiBG) the following
subparagraph:
"(viiiBH) in the case of a coin of the denomination of $5 that refers on its
obverse side to the year 1990 as the year of the coin-the inscription '5
DOLLARS' and a representation of the statue, sculpted by Peter Corlett, known
as 'Simpson and his donkey';";
(d) by inserting after subparagraph (d) (viiiEC) the following
subparagraph:
"(viiiED) in the case of a coin of the denomination of $10 that refers on its
obverse side to the year 1990 as the year of the coin:
(A) being a coin the weight, dimensions and remedy of which
are as specified in item 10 in the Schedule-the
inscriptions 'WESTERN AUSTRALIA' and '10 DOLLARS' and a
representation of the coat of arms of the State of
Western Australia; or
(B) being a coin, the weight, dimensions and remedy of which
are as specified in item 10 in the Schedule or a coin the
weight, dimensions and remedy of which are as specified
in item 10A in the Schedule-the inscription '10 DOLLARS'
and a representation of a sulphur-crested cockatoo, with
wings outstretched and crest erect, on a tree branch;";
(e) by omitting from subparagraph (d) (ix) "(xiii) or (xiv)" and
substituting "(xiii), (xiv) or (xv)";
(f) by omitting from subparagraph (d) (xiii) "and" (last occurring);
(g) by adding at the end of paragraph (d) the following word and
subparagraph:
"; and (xv) in the case of a coin of the denomination of $200 that refers on
its obverse side to the year 1990 as the year of the coin-the inscriptions
'PRIDE OF AUSTRALIA' and 'TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS' and a representation of a
platypus in riverside habitat, all encircled by raised beads inside the rim of
the coin.".
