Despite section 31 of the Act, the liability of a liable parent who is in a
reciprocating jurisdiction to pay child support does not arise until all prior
requirements (if any) under the applicable international agreement or
arrangement with the reciprocating jurisdiction, or the laws of that
reciprocating jurisdiction, are complied with.
Example
Some reciprocating
jurisdictions require that the person from whom payment is sought must be
given notice about:
* the making, and substance, of the application for administrative assessment
of child support; and
* how the person may object to the application.
