1985 No. 128 DEFENCE FORCE DISCIPLINE RULES - RULE 52

Swearing of court martial
52. (1) This rule applies in relation to proceedings before a court martial
convened under paragraph 103 (6) (d) or sub-section 103 (7) of the Act.

(2) After all objections by the convicted person to members of the court
martial have been dealt with and before any service offence is read to the
court martial, the judge advocate shall administer, or cause to be
administered, an oath or affirmation to the President and each other member of
the court martial in the presence of the convicted person.

(3) The oath or affirmation to be taken or made by a person for the purposes
of this rule is an oath or affirmation that the person will duly administer
justice according to law without fear or favour, affection or ill-will and
that the person will not disclose the vote or opinion of any member of the
court martial unless required to do so in due course of law.
