EXPORT CONTROL (HARDWOOD WOOD CHIPS) AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 2000 (NO. 1) 2000 NO. 43 - SCHEDULE 1
Amendments
(regulation 3)
[1] Paragraph 2 (a)
substitute
- (a)
- ensures that, from the
commencement of this paragraph, hardwood wood chips that are derived from
native hardwood forests are permitted to be exported only if:
- (i)
- they are derived from a region to which a Regional Forest Agreement
applies; or
- (ii)
- they are exported under a restricted shipment licence; and
[2] Subregulation 24 (1)
substitute
- (1)
- A person may apply, in writing, for
a licence to export a shipment of hardwood wood chips from a region to which
no Regional Forest Agreement applies.
[3] Subregulation 25 (2)

- (2)
- Before deciding whether to grant a restricted shipment licence, the
Minister must consider:
- (a)
- the need to protect areas that are or may be
required to establish a comprehensive, adequate and representative national
forest reserve system; and
- (b)
- any other relevant matter.

- The Export Control (Hardwood Woodchips) (Monitoring Fee) Orders do not
apply to a restricted shipment licence granted after 31 March 2000.
