To fund Australian Federation of Ethnic Schools Associations Inc to improve the provision of community languages to Australian school students. This purpose also has the effect it would have if it were limited to providing funding by: (a) engaging in measures to meet Australia's obligations under the Convention on the Rights of the Child (particularly Article 29); or (b) collecting data and otherwise conducting research for the purpose of informing the Commonwealth; or (c) developing and providing online educational, research and resource material. |

International Geography Olympiads |
To fund, as part of Australia's participation in the International Geography Olympiads, student participation in the international event, including: (a) organising, promoting and managing the national selection event, Geography's Big Week Out; and (b) meeting student costs for attendance at, and participation in, the events. This objective also has the effect it would have if it were limited to providing funding for activities that: (a) are in connection with Australia's participation in an international event (including where such events are held at locations external to Australia); or (b) are peculiarly adapted to the government of a nation and cannot otherwise be carried on for the benefit of the nation; or (c) are the provision of, or incidental to the provision of, benefits to students. |

World Debating Championships |
To fund: (a) as part of Australia's participation in the World Debating Championships, student participation in the international event, including: (i) organising and managing selection and participation of students; and (ii) meeting student costs for attendance and participation; and (b) the provision of teaching, coaching and development programs to foster an understanding of debating techniques for schools and students. This objective also has the effect it would have if it were limited to providing funding for activities that: (a) are in connection with Australia's participation in an international event (including where such events are held at locations external to Australia); or (b) are peculiarly adapted to the government of a nation and cannot otherwise be carried on for the benefit of the nation; or (c) are the provision of, or incidental to the provision of, benefits to students; or (d) are a measure to meet Australia's obligations under the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (particularly Article 15(1)(a)) and the Convention on the Rights of the Child by enhancing students' access to opportunities to participate in cultural life through debating. |

Educating Against Domestic Violence |
To support Australia-wide education of school students from Foundation to Year 12 on respectful relationships countering domestic violence, through: (a) the development of curriculum and teaching resources for delivery online; and (b) the development of a mobile application for the delivery of curriculum and teaching resources online; and (c) the delivery of curriculum and teaching resources online via a website and mobile application. This objective also has the effect it would have if it were limited to providing support for activities: (a) in connection with online communications; or (b) to meet Australia's international obligations in relation to women (particularly Articles 2, 5 and 16 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women). |
