Insert:

Prevention of Financial Abuse of Women

To fund measures directed at preventing and responding to the financial abuse of women, and supporting women's economic independence, including by providing funding to do the following:

(a) identify resources currently being used, and measures currently being undertaken, to achieve these objectives;

(b) engage with community, public and private sector organisations around measures to achieve these objectives;

(c) implement appropriate measures to achieve these objectives on a national scale;

(d) develop community education initiatives (including through online channels) to achieve these objectives.

These objectives also have the effect they would have if they were limited to providing funding for measures:

(a) with respect to postal, telegraphic, telephonic, and other like services (within the meaning of paragraph 51(v) of the Constitution); or

(b) to give effect to Australia's obligations under Articles 2(e) and (f), 5(a) and 16 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women; or

(c) undertaken in the exercise of the executive power of the Commonwealth.
