1984 No. 425 FAMILY LAW RULES - ORDER 2 RULE 4

Filing of documents
4. (1) Where a document is to be filed, it shall be filed by lodging it-

   (a)  if it is to be filed in or in connexion with particular proceedings-

        (i)    in the filing registry for those proceedings; or

        (ii)   with the leave of a court exercising jurisdiction under the Act
               or of a Registrar, in the appropriate registry of the court; or

   (b)  in any other case-in the appropriate registry of a court exercising
        jurisdiction under the Act.

(2) During the hearing of proceedings by a court, a document relating to the
proceedings may, by leave of the court, be filed by delivering it to an
officer of the court.

(3) The Registrar shall cause the date of filing to be marked on every
document that is filed.

(4) Where a document has been filed, each copy of the document for service
shall bear the seal of the court in which the document was filed.

(5) A reference in these Rules to the filing of a document or the taking of a
step in proceedings by a person includes a reference to the filing of the
document or the taking of the step on behalf of the person.
