1984 No. 425 FAMILY LAW RULES - ORDER 23 RULE 11

Attorney-General may appoint next friend of person under disability
11. (1) The Attorney-General may by writing under his hand, appoint a person
(including a corporation sole) to be an authorised person for the purposes of
this Rule, either generally or in respect of a particular person under
disability.

(2) A person authorised under sub-rule (1) may consent to act as next friend
of a person under disability in proceedings by filing an instrument in
accordance with Form 29 and the first-mentioned person shall thereupon be the
next friend of the person under disability in those proceedings.

(3) Where, before the commencement of these Rules, a person (including a
corporation sole) was appointed by the Attorney-General pursuant to the
provisions of regulation 73 of the Regulations as an authorised person for the
purposes of that regulation, such appointment shall be deemed to be an
appointment for the purposes of sub-rule (1).
