1984 No. 425 FAMILY LAW RULES - ORDER 38 RULE 4

Solicitor and client agreement as to costs
4. (1) Nothing in this Order shall prevent-

   (a)  a solicitor acting for a party to proceedings from entering into an
        agreement in writing with that party in relation to costs of the
        proceedings and charging in accordance with that agreement; or

   (b)  a solicitor or party from taking any proceedings available at law in
        relation to such agreement.

(2) Before entering into an agreement referred to in sub-rule (1) with a
party to proceedings, a solicitor shall-

   (a)  provide the party with a copy of this Division and Schedule 2; and

   (b)  advise the party of the desirability of obtaining independent legal
        advice in relation to the agreement before entering into the
        agreement.
