- (1)
- A party may request permission to attend a court event by electronic
communication.
Note
Subrule 5.06 (4) sets out the matters the court may
take into account when considering a request under subrule (1).

- A
request must:
- (a)
- be in writing;
- (b)
- be made at least 7 days before the date fixed for the procedural hearing
or conference;
- (c)
- set out the reasons why the court should grant permission;
- (d)
- set out whether any child representative and any other party agrees to the
party attending by electronic communication; and
- (e)
- be served on each other party.
(3) If the court grants the request, the court may:
- (a)
- order a party to pay
the expense of the attendance; or
- (b)
- apportion the expense between the parties.
- (4)
- A party who is in prison must attend at a procedural hearing or conference
by electronic communication.
