FAMILY LAW RULES 20042003 No. 375 - RULE 7.17

When service is taken to have been carried out

A document is taken to have been served:

(a)
on the date when service is acknowledged;

(b)
if served by post to an address in Australia — on the third day after it was posted;

(c)
if served by airmail to an address outside Australia — on the fourteenth day after it was posted;

(d)
if served by electronic communication — on the day when it was sent;

(e) if served by delivery to a document exchange — on the next working day after the day when it was delivered; or

(f)
on a date fixed by the court.
