HEALTH INSURANCE (PATHOLOGY SERVICES TABLE) AMENDMENT REGULATION 2012 (NO. 2) (SLI NO 167 OF 2012)

- Description:This regulation amends the Health Insurance (Pathology Services Table) Regulations 2011 to revise information to be included on a request for pathology as a consequence of patients being able to choose their own pathology provider under the Health Insurance Act 1973. There is still a legislative requirement for a request to be made, but there is no longer a requirement that the request be made to a particular approved pathology practitioner or authority unless there are clinical reasons identified by their treating practitioner. This is a consequential amendment following the passage of the Health Insurance Amendment (Pathology Requests) Act 2010.
