NAVIGATION (CONFIDENTIAL MARINE REPORTING SCHEME) REGULATIONS 2004 2004 No. 95 - REG 5

Establishment and purposes of scheme
(1)
There is established a scheme (to be known as the Confidential Marine Reporting Scheme ) for the confidential reporting of reportable safety issues.

(2)
The scheme is to be administered by the Executive Director.

(3)
The purpose of the scheme is to enable the Executive Director:

(a)
to provide a confidential reporting scheme for maritime safety issues; and

(b)
to use the reports made under the scheme to identify unsafe procedures, practices or conditions in order to prevent or lessen the likelihood of maritime accidents.
