PETROLEUM (SUBMERGED LANDS) (DIVING SAFETY) REGULATIONS 2002 2002 No. 300 - REG 5
Meaning of diving
For these Regulations:
- (a)
- a person is diving if he or she:
- (i)
- is in a chamber inside which the ambient pressure is equal to or higher
than the hydrostatic pressure at a depth of 1 metre in seawater (whether
or not the chamber is submerged in water or another liquid); or
- (ii)
- is submerged in water or another liquid and his or her lungs are
subjected to a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure (whether or not he
or she is wearing a wetsuit or other protective clothing); or
- (iii)
- is in a manned submersible craft that is submerged in water or another
liquid; and
- (b)
- diving includes diving using a snorkel and diving without the use of any
breathing apparatus.
