1995 No. 182 PASSPORTS REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT) - REG 8

8.1 Subregulation 9 (1): Omit the subregulation, substitute:

"(1) An authorised officer may issue a certificate of identity to a person
who:

   (a)  is not an Australian citizen; and

   (b)  is about to leave Australia; and

   (c)  is:

        (i)    stateless; or

        (ii)   unable to obtain a passport from a consular representative of
               the country of which the person claims to be a national.".

8.2 Subregulations (1A) and (2): Omit "authorized officer" (wherever
occurring), substitute "authorised officer".

8.3 Subregulation 9 (3): Omit the subregulation.
