QUARANTINE REGULATIONS 2000 2000 NO. 129 - REG 15

When masters to report death
(1)
If, during the reporting period, a person on board an overseas vessel or overseas installation dies, the master of the vessel or installation must, as soon as practicable, give to a quarantine officer the name of the person and the date and the cause, or suspected cause, of the person's death.

Penalty:
50 penalty units.

(2)
For subregulation (1), the reporting period :

(a)
starts at the end of the period within which the master was required to give information to a quarantine officer under subsection 27A (2) or 27B (2) of the Act; and

(b)
ends when the vessel or installation leaves its last port of call before departure from Australia or the Cocos Islands.
