1993 No. 177 RADIOCOMMUNICATIONS REGULATIONS - REG 17

Novice Amateur Operator's Examination
17. A Novice Amateur Operator's Examination is an examination conducted by an
authorised person in relation to the following matters:

   (a)  knowledge to an elementary level of the principles of electricity and
        of radiocommunication;

   (b)  knowledge of:

        (i)    the regulations in force under the Telecommunication Convention
               and specified by the Spectrum Manager by notice in the Gazette;
               and

        (ii)   the provisions of the Act and the regulations under the Act;
               that relate to the operation of an amateur station;

   (c)  ability to send correctly, and to receive correctly by ear, in Morse
        code, a message in plain language at a speed of 5 words per minute.
