1996 No. 295 RADIOCOMMUNICATIONS STANDARDS (ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY) No. 1 of 1996 - REG 5

5. (1) This clause applies to the performance, in the frequency band 9 kHz to
1 GHz, of a device that is:

   (a)  a video recorder, a video playback machine or a sound and television
        receiver designed or intended to receive broadcast transmissions and
        other similar transmissions; and

   (b)  designed or intended to be directly or indirectly connected to a low
        voltage mains electricity supply for the purpose of operating the
        device or charging a battery that is used to operate the device.

(2) For the purposes of paragraph 162 (1) (a) of the Act, the standard for the
performance of the device is the standard set out in Australian/New Zealand
Standard AS/NZS 1053:1992, other than clause 1.
