1996 No. 295 RADIOCOMMUNICATIONS STANDARDS (ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY) No. 1 of 1996 - REG 9

Standard for electrical lighting and similar equipment
9. (1) Subject to subclause (2), this clause applies to the performance, in
the frequency band 9 kHz to 400 GHz, of a device that:

   (a)  is:

        (i)    a device that has a primary function of generating or
               distributing light for the purpose of illumination, including
               the equipment of that kind specified in Schedule 3; or

        (ii)   independent auxiliaries used exclusively with a device referred
               to in subparagraph (i); and

   (b)  is designed or intended to be directly or indirectly connected to a
        low voltage mains electricity supply for the purposes of operating the
        device or charging a battery that is used to operate the device.

(2) This clause does not apply to a device to which clause 6 or 7 applies.

(3) For the purposes of paragraph 162 (1) (a) of the Act, the standard for the
performance of the device is the standard set out in Australian/New Zealand
Standard AS/NZS 4051:1994, other than clause 1.
