1986 No. 203 TRADE UNION TRAINING AUTHORITY REGULATIONS - REG 6
Acting Chairperson
6. (1) The Minister may appoint a person to act as Chairperson.
(2) Where the Chairperson is absent from duty or from Australia or is unable
to perform the functions of his or her office, or there is a vacancy in the
office of Chairperson-
(a) if an appointment of a person to act as Chairperson is in force under
sub-regulation (1) and the person so appointed is available to
exercise the powers and perform the functions and duties of the
Chairperson-the person so appointed; or
(b) in any other case-the member referred to in paragraph 5 (1) (b), shall
act as Chairperson during the absence or inability or until the
filling of the vacancy, as the case may be, and while so acting has
and may exercise all the powers, and shall perform all the functions
and duties, of the Chairperson.
(3) At any time when a person who is not a member of the Council is acting as
Chairperson, the person shall be deemed to be a member of the Council for the
purposes of sub-regulation 11 (4).
