National Library Regulations
The purpose of the National Library Regulations is to introduce regulatory powers necessary to secure the Library's collection and assets.
The Regulations will cover the following areas.
• unauthorised removal of items from the Library collection/assets
• damage of items in the collection or to Library property
• improper use of Library collection/assets
• conditions of entry
• limitations on articles allowed into the Library
• disorderly or offensive conduct
• compliance with directions regarding security
• supply of liquor
• power to deal with offenders regarding the above
These requirements are very similar to those of other collecting institutions in the portfolio, such as the National Gallery of Australia, which already operate with the assistance of Regulations.
