Emergency Services Levy Amendment Bill 2024 [NSW] The Legislature of New South Wales enacts-- 1 Name of Act This Act is the Emergency Services Levy Amendment Act 2024. 2 Commencement This Act commences on the date of assent to this Act. Page 2 Emergency Services Levy Amendment Bill 2024 [NSW] Schedule 1 Amendment of Emergency Services Levy Act 2017 No 32 Schedule 1 Amendment of Emergency Services Levy Act 2017 No 32 [1] Section 47 Insurers to provide information Insert after section 47(1)-- (1A) The notice must specify a reasonable time within which the information must be provided. (1B) The information must be provided to the Secretary. [2] Section 47(2) Omit "the evaluation and implementation of emergency services levy reform". Insert instead "evaluating and implementing reforms to the way in which emergency services are funded". [3] Section 47(3) Omit "requirement". Insert instead "notice". [4] Section 47(5) Omit the subsection. [5] Section 47(7)-(11) Omit section 47(7). Insert instead-- (7) The Treasurer must not give a notice requiring information to be provided after 31 December 2026. (8) This section authorises the Secretary or a person employed in the Treasury to-- (a) collect personal information provided under this section, and (b) use the personal information for the purposes of this section. (9) This section does not authorise the Secretary or a person employed in the Treasury to disclose the personal information to a person who is not employed in the Treasury. (10) The personal information must be securely disposed of on or before 30 June 2028. (11) In this section-- personal information has the same meaning as in the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998. Secretary means the Secretary of the Treasury. Page 3
