This Act is the Sydney Water Catchment Management Amendment 3
(Board Members) Act 2012. 4
2 Commencement 5
This Act commences on a day to be appointed by proclamation. 6

Omit the section. Insert instead: 4
7 Board 5
(1) There is to be a Sydney Catchment Authority Board. 6
(2) The Board is to consist of: 7
(a) the Chief Executive, and 8
(b) not fewer than 4 and not more than 8 members appointed 9
by the Minister. 10
(3) The members of the Board appointed by the Minister are to be 11
persons who, in the opinion of the Minister, each or together have 12
the following: 13
(a) qualifications and experience relevant to catchment 14
management and protection, 15
(b) qualifications and experience relevant to water quality and 16
public health, 17
(c) qualifications and experience relevant to running a 18
commercial entity, 19
(d) qualifications and experience relevant to water supply 20
planning and asset management, 21
(e) practical knowledge of, and experience in, agriculture and 22
industry in the catchment area, 23
(f) practical knowledge of, and experience in, local 24
government and planning in the catchment area, 25
(g) such other expertise as the Minister considers necessary to 26
realise the objectives of the SCA. 27
(4) The Minister may advertise publicly for appointments to the 28
Board. 29
(5) Schedule 1 contains provisions with respect to the constitution 30
and procedure of the Board. 31

18 Sydney Catchment Authority Board 6
(1) On the commencement of the Sydney Water Catchment 7
Management Amendment (Board Members) Act 2012, a person 8
who was, immediately before that commencement, a member of 9
the Board appointed by the Minister ceases to hold that office but 10
is eligible (if otherwise qualified) for re-appointment as a 11
member of the Board. 12
(2) A person is not entitled to any compensation for ceasing to hold 13
an office because of the operation of this clause. 14
