Racing Administration Amendment Bill 1999
Explanatory note
This explanatory note relates to this Bill as introduced into Parliament.
Overview of Bill
The object of this Bill is to amend the Racing Administration Act 1998:(a) to enable a person or body prescribed by the regulations under that Act to publish information in relation to dividends and betting odds payable in respect of an authorised totalizator operation conducted in another State or Territory, and
(b) to enable the regulations under that Act to adopt a code or other publication as in force on a particular day or as in force for the time being.
Outline of provisions
Clause 1 sets out the name (also called the short title) of the proposed Act.-
Clause 2 provides for the commencement of the proposed Act on a day or days to be appointed by proclamation.
Clause 3 is a formal provision giving effect to the amendments to the Racing Administration Act 1998 set out in Schedule 1.
Schedule 1 [1] amends section 28 of the Principal Act in the manner described in paragraph (a) of the overview above.
Schedule 1 [2] amends section 37 of the Principal Act in the manner described in paragraph (b) of the overview above.
