ANATOMY ACT 1977 - SECT 4B
Delegation of functions of next of kin
(1) A next of kin of a deceased person may from time to time, by instrument in
writing, authorise a person to exercise his or her functions under this Act as
a next of kin of the deceased person.
(2) In such a case, the person so
authorised: (a) may exercise the functions of a next of kin of the deceased
person under this Act (other than the function conferred by subsection (1)),
in the place of the person who authorised him or her, and
(b) is taken, for
the purposes of this Act, to be a next of kin of the deceased person, and
(c)
for the purposes of the definition of
"senior available next of kin" in section 4 (1), is taken to be a next of kin
of the same order as the person who authorised him or her to exercise the
functions of a next of kin.
