BETTING AND RACING ACT 1998 - SECT 17A
Definitions
(1) In this Division--
"sporting event" includes a class of sporting events but does not include a
race or any event related to racing.
"sports controlling body" for a sporting event means the person or body
prescribed as the sports controlling body for the sporting event under
section 17B.
(2) The regulations may declare that an event or class of event
is, or is not, a sporting event and any such declaration is conclusive for the
purposes of this Division.
