Appointment and identification of inspectors
33M Appointment and identification of inspectors
(1) The Secretary may appoint a Public Service employee to be an inspector for
the purposes of this Act and the regulations and instruments made under it.
(2) The Secretary is taken to have been appointed as an inspector.
(3) The
Secretary is to cause each inspector to be issued with a means of
identification in the form approved by the Secretary.
(4) In the course of
exercising the functions of an inspector under this Act and the regulations
and instruments made under it, the inspector must, if requested to do so by
any person affected by the exercise of any such function, produce the
inspector's identification for inspection by the person unless to do so would
defeat the purpose for which the functions are to be exercised.
