(a) is pronounced to be an habitual criminal under the provisions of the Habitual Criminals Act 1957 and is sentenced under the provisions of that Act, may, by leave of the court, appeal against such pronouncement and sentence, or
(b) is an habitual criminal and is sentenced under the provisions of subsection (5) of section 8 of that Act, may, by leave of the court, appeal against such sentence,and the provisions of this Act applicable to an appeal against a sentence passed on a conviction on indictment shall apply to such an appeal.
