Functions of Ministerial Council
220 Functions of Ministerial Council
(1) The Ministerial Council has the following functions under this Law-- (a)
to oversee the implementation and administration of the National Quality
Framework;
(b) to promote uniformity in the application and enforcement of
the National Quality Framework;
(c) to review and approve the National
Quality Standard and set specific standards for education and care services
and classes of education and care services;
(d) to review and approve the
rating level system to be used in rating education and care services;
(e) to
review and approve the fee structure under this Law;
(f) to review and
approve new learning frameworks for the purposes of this Law;
(g) to monitor
the implementation and operation of, and recommend or approve amendments to,
this Law;
(h) to monitor the implementation and operation of the national
regulations;
(i) to review the education and care services to which this Law
applies and recommend, or amend the national regulations to provide for, the
inclusion of new classes of education and care services under this Law;
(j)
to appoint the members of the Board;
(k) to monitor and review the
performance of the National Authority;
(l) any other functions given to the
Ministerial Council by or under this Law.
(2) The Ministerial Council must
have regard to the objectives and guiding principles of the National Quality
Framework in carrying out its functions.
