24A Mandatory requirements for supervision and other prohibitions to be
disregarded in sentencing
(1) In sentencing an offender, the court must not take into account, as a
mitigating factor in sentencing, the fact that the offender-- (a) has or may
become a registrable person under the
Child Protection (Offenders Registration) Act 2000 as a consequence of the
offence, or
(b) has or may become the subject of an order under the
Child Protection (Offenders Prohibition Orders) Act 2004 , or
(c) as a
consequence of being convicted of the offence, has become a disqualified
person within the meaning of the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act
2012 , or
(d) has or may become the subject of an order under the
Crimes (High Risk Offenders) Act 2006 , or
(e) has or may become the subject
of an order under the Terrorism (High Risk Offenders) Act 2017 .
(2) This
section has effect despite any Act or rule of law to the contrary.
