Complaints, investigations and audits of practitioners
92 Complaints, investigations and audits of practitioners
(1) The Secretary may, whether or not the Secretary has received a complaint,
investigate-- (a) a registered practitioner or former registered practitioner,
or
(b) the preparation of regulated designs or the carrying out of
building work, professional engineering work or specialist work or the
provision of compliance declarations, or
(c) other matters that may
constitute a breach of this Act or the regulations.
(2) The Secretary may
require that a complaint made to the Secretary about a matter referred to in
subsection (1)(a)-(c) be in a form approved by the Secretary.
(3) However,
the Secretary is not required to investigate a matter even if a complaint is
made in the approved form.
(4) The Secretary may conduct an audit of a
registered practitioner at any time.
(5) This section does not limit other
powers that the Secretary may have under this Act or another Act or law to
receive a complaint, investigate a matter or conduct an audit.
