(1) A person must not, during the regulated period, publish an advertisement containing electoral matter on the internet, or cause, permit or authorise such an advertisement to be published, if--(a) the advertisement is paid for by the person or another person, and(b) the name and address of an individual who authorised the advertisement do not appear within the advertisement.: Maximum penalty--(a) in the case of a corporation--100 penalty units, or(b) in any other case--20 penalty units or imprisonment for 6 months, or both.
(2) A person does not commit the offence in subsection (1) if the person establishes that the matter published on the internet forms part of a general commentary on a website.
