ELECTORAL ACT 2017 - SECT 46
Authorised roll of electors to be prepared for each election
(1) The Electoral Commissioner is to prepare an authorised roll of electors
for a district for use at voting centres at an election.
(2) An
authorised roll-- (a) must be prepared by the Electoral Commissioner as soon
as practicable after the issue of the writ for an election, and
(b) must be
prepared by the Electoral Commissioner when so required under any other Act,
and
(c) may contain only the following information-- (i) the surname, given
name or names, date of birth and sex of each elector,
(ii) the residence of
the elector (except in relation to an eligible overseas elector or an
itinerant elector), and Section 36 (Silent electors: request for address to be
omitted from authorised rolls or any other list of electors) provides for the
exclusion of the address of an elector from an authorised roll in certain
circumstances.
(d) may be in a form determined by the Electoral Commissioner.
(3) A person who will not attain 18 years of age on or by the election day for
an election is not entitled to be included on an authorised roll prepared by
the Electoral Commissioner in relation to the election.
