Falsifying or altering records
72 Falsifying or altering records
(1) A firearms dealer must not, with intent to deceive, make a false or
misleading entry in, or alter, a record required to be made or kept under
section 45. : Maximum penalty--imprisonment for 14 years if the record relates
to a pistol or prohibited firearm (or part of a pistol or prohibited firearm),
or imprisonment for 5 years in any other case.
Note : Reference to a pistol
includes a prohibited pistol.
(2) A person must not, with intent to deceive,
make a false or misleading entry in, or alter, any other record required to be
made or kept by or under this Act. : Maximum penalty--50 penalty units or
imprisonment for 2 years, or both.
