Automatic suspension
6I Automatic suspension
(1) A guardianship order made in respect of a person who has appointed an
enduring guardian operates to suspend, for the duration of the order, all
authority of the enduring guardian to exercise a function under the
appointment.
(2) If a person who is the subject of a guardianship order
purports to appoint an enduring guardian, the purported appointment is of no
effect.
(3) In this section, a reference to a guardianship order includes:
(a) an order to the like effect made by the Supreme Court in the exercise of
its jurisdiction with respect to guardianship of persons, and
(b) an order to
the like effect made under a corresponding law as referred to in Part 5A.
