GOVERNMENT SECTOR AUDIT ACT 1983 - SECT 47
Appointment and functions of auditor
(1) The Governor may, in relation to an annual reporting period for the
Audit Office, appoint a registered company auditor within the meaning of the
Corporations Act 2001 of the Commonwealth to inspect and audit the
Audit Office's financial report and the books and records relating to the
administration, during the annual reporting period, of the Audit Office.
(2)
For the purposes of subsection (1), the auditor shall have and may exercise,
in relation to the Audit Office, the same functions as the Auditor-General has
under this Act in relation to an audit of government money.
