(1) The following courses of action are available to the Commission in respect of a complaint made to the Commission, or that the Commission has decided to make, about a registered health practitioner or student--(a) the Commission may refer the complaint to the Council for the health profession in which the practitioner or student is registered or, after consultation with a Council, to a Committee or the Tribunal;(b) the Commission may refer the complaint for conciliation or deal with the complaint under Division 9 of Part 2 of the Health Care Complaints Act 1993 ;(c) the Commission may refer the complaint to another entity, including, for example, a National Board;(d) the Commission may determine that no further action should be taken in respect of the complaint;(e) the Commission may take any other action that it can take under the Health Care Complaints Act 1993 .
(2) If the Commission refers a complaint to a Committee or the Tribunal, the Commission must inform the Council accordingly.
