Retrospective commencement of continuing Acts
72 Retrospective commencement of continuing Acts
(1) If a Bill for an Act to continue a temporary Act has been introduced into
Parliament and is still pending at the expiration of the temporary Act, the
Act shall, on the date of its assent, be deemed to have taken effect in
continuing the temporary Act on the expiration of the temporary Act.
(2) This
section does not make any person liable to any penalty for or in respect of a
contravention of the temporary Act that occurs after the expiration of the
temporary Act and before the date of assent to the Act by which the temporary
Act is continued.
