LEGAL PROFESSION UNIFORM LAW (NSW) - SECT 117
Supervising legal practitioner
117 Supervising legal practitioner
(1) A community legal service or its governing body is required to have at
least one Australian legal practitioner who-- (a) is employed or engaged by
the service or is a member of its governing body; and
(b) is designated by
the governing body as a supervising legal practitioner for the service and
responsible for the provision of legal services by the service.
(2) A
community legal service contravenes this section if it or its governing body
does not have any supervising legal practitioners for a period exceeding 7
days. Penalty: 250 penalty units.
Note: A supervising legal practitioner is a
principal of the law practice.
