LEGAL PROFESSION UNIFORM LAW (NSW) - SECT 122
Contravention by disqualified person
(1) A person who-- (a) is a disqualified person; or
(b) has been convicted of
a serious offence--
must not seek to become a lay associate of a law practice
unless the person first informs the law practice of the disqualification or
conviction. Civil penalty: 100 penalty units.
(2) Proceedings for a pecuniary
penalty order for a contravention of subsection (1) may only be brought within
6 months after discovery of the contravention by the law practice.
(3)
Subsection (1) does not apply in circumstances specified in the Uniform Rules
for the purposes of this section.
