Protection from liability
389 Protection from liability
(1) No liability attaches to a protected person in respect of any act or
omission by an investigator done in good faith and in the exercise or
purported exercise of the investigator's functions under this Chapter.
(2)
Without limitation, no liability (including liability in defamation) is
incurred by a protected person in respect of anything done or omitted to be
done in good faith for the purpose of disclosing information as permitted by
this Law or the Uniform Rules.
(3) For the purposes of this section, a
"protected person" is the designated local regulatory authority, an
investigator or a person acting at the direction of the local regulatory
authority or an investigator.
