Constitution of mineral claims districts
173 Constitution of mineral claims districts
(1) The Governor may, by order published in the Gazette, constitute any land
as a mineral claims district and may, by the same or a subsequent order so
published, name the district and fix its boundaries. Editorial note : For
orders under this subsection see Gazette No 101 of 20.8.1992, pp 5948, 5949.

(2) Such an order-- (a) may not
be made except on the recommendation of the Minister, and
(b) may not be made
over land within a reserve if an order under section 367 directs that mineral
claims are not to be granted over land in the reserve, and
(c) may not be
made over land within an exempted area except in accordance with the consent
of the controlling body for that area.
