MOTOR ACCIDENTS (LIFETIME CARE AND SUPPORT) ACT 2006 - SECT 43
Functions of Authority
(1) The Authority has such functions as are conferred or imposed on it by or
under this or any other Act.
(2) The Authority also has the following
functions-- (a) to monitor the operation of the Scheme under this Act, and in
particular to conduct (or arrange for other persons to conduct) research into
and to collect statistics in relation to the operation of the Scheme,
(b) to
advise the Minister as to the administration, efficiency and effectiveness of
the Scheme,
(b1) to provide the Minister with such information as the
Minister may request,
(c) to publicise and disseminate information concerning
the Scheme,
(d) to issue and keep under review the LTCS Guidelines under this
Act.
(3) The Authority has the following functions in relation to the
provision of care, treatment, rehabilitation, long term support and other
services for persons who have sustained motor accident injuries-- (a) to
monitor those services,
(b) to provide support and funding for programs that
will improve delivery of those services,
(c) to provide support and funding
for research and education in connection with the delivery of those services.
