MOTOR DEALERS AND REPAIRERS ACT 2013 - SECT 149
Authorised officers
(1) In this Act--
"authorised officer" means-- (a) the Secretary, or
(b) a person for the time
being authorised in writing as an authorised officer by the Secretary, or
(c)
a police officer, or
(d) any other member of the NSW Police Force who is
authorised by the Commissioner of Police in writing to exercise functions of
an authorised officer under this Act, or
(e) a person for the time being
authorised in writing as an authorised officer by Transport for NSW, or
(f)
an investigator.
"investigator" means an investigator appointed under section 18 of the
Fair Trading Act 1987 .
(2) An authorised officer who is a person for the
time being authorised in writing by the Secretary or Transport for NSW is to
be provided by the Secretary or Transport for NSW with a certificate of
identification.
(3) An authorised officer who is provided with a certificate
of identification or is an investigator must, when exercising on any premises
any function of the authorised officer or investigator under this Act, produce
the officer's or investigator's certificate of identification to any person
apparently in charge of the premises who requests its production.
