PROPERTY AND STOCK AGENTS ACT 2002 - SECT 225
Service of notices
225 Service of notices
(1) A notice or direction in writing that is required or permitted to be given
under this Act may be given as provided by this section.
(2) A notice or
direction may be given to a person other than a corporation-- (a) by giving it
to the person, or
(b) by leaving it at the person's place of residence with
someone who apparently resides there and has apparently reached the age of 16
years, or
(c) by leaving it at the person's place of employment or business
with someone who is apparently employed there and has apparently reached the
age of 16 years, or
(d) by posting it in a letter addressed to the person at
the address last known to the Secretary of the person's place of residence,
employment or business, or
(e) by email to an email address specified by the
person for the service of notices or directions of that kind, or
(e1) by
other electronic means to an address or location specified by the person for
the service of notices or directions of that kind, or
(f) by any other method
authorised by the regulations for the service of notices or directions of that
kind.
(3) A notice or direction may be given to a corporation-- (a) by giving
it to the secretary of the corporation, or any other person concerned in the
management of the corporation, personally, or
(b) by leaving it at the
corporation's only or principal place of business with someone who is
apparently employed there and has apparently reached the age of 16 years, or
(c) by posting it in a letter addressed to the corporation at the address last
known to the Secretary of its only or principal place of business, or
(d) by
email to an email address specified by the corporation for the service of
notices or directions of that kind, or
(d1) by other electronic means to an
address or location specified by the corporation for the service of notices or
directions of that kind, or
(e) by any other method authorised by the
regulations for the service of notices or directions of that kind.
(4) This
section does not limit any provision of the Corporations Act.
