Role of authorised officers
32J Role of authorised officers
(1) An authorised officer may act on behalf of a claimant for the purposes of
this Part.
(2) It is the duty of an authorised officer (other than a police
officer) to whom a claimant resorts for assistance in pursuance of the
claimant's rights under this Part or otherwise in connection with any goods in
the possession of a licensee to assist the claimant to the greatest
practicable extent by acting on his or her behalf as permitted by this Part
and by the exercise, in pursuit of the claimant's rights, of any other powers
conferred on the officer by or under this Act.
(3) The regulations may make
provision for or with respect to the handling and disposition of goods
delivered to an authorised officer under section 32F(4).
