Reasons to be given for grant or refusal of certain licence applications
61 Reasons to be given for grant or refusal of certain licence applications
(1) If a licence application (other than an application for the approval of
the surrender of a licence) is granted or refused, any person may make a
written request to the appropriate regulatory authority for the reasons for
the grant or refusal of the application and the appropriate regulatory
authority is to provide a written statement of the reasons to the person.
(2)
The regulations may make provision with respect to any such statement of
reasons, including-- (a) the time within which a request for reasons must be
made or within which the statement of reasons must be provided, and
(b) the
matters to be set out in a statement of reasons, and
(c) the cases in which a
statement of reasons is not required to be provided.
(3) Without limiting
subsection (2), a statement of reasons is not required to be provided to a
person if the person has already been notified of the reasons under
section 55.
