Landlord's information statement
31A Landlord's information statement
(1) A landlord must not enter into a residential tenancy agreement unless the
landlord or the landlord's agent has signed an acknowledgment on the
residential tenancy agreement that the landlord has read and understood the
contents of an information statement in the approved form that sets out the
landlord's rights and obligations under this Act and any other Act or law in
relation to the proposed residential tenancy (a
"rights and obligations information statement" ). : Maximum penalty--20
penalty units.
(2) A landlord's agent must not sign an acknowledgment on the
residential tenancy agreement unless the landlord's agent has first obtained
from the landlord a statement in writing that the landlord has read and
understood the contents of the rights and obligations information statement. :
Maximum penalty--20 penalty units.
