A police officer or person authorised by Transport for NSW may seize any
number-plate--
(a) that is attached to--(i) a registrable vehicle the registration of which has expired not less than 15 days before the date on which the number-plate is seized, or(ii) a registrable vehicle the registration of which has been cancelled, or
(b) that has been used in contravention of a provision of the statutory rules that is prescribed by the statutory rules.
