RETIREMENT VILLAGES ACT 1999 - SECT 22
Holding deposit
(1) The operator of a retirement village must not require or accept a
holding deposit in respect of any residential premises in the village that are
occupied by a resident. : Maximum penalty--50 penalty units.
(2) Subsection
(1) does not apply if the resident has given the operator written notice of
intention to vacate the premises.
